
The results of the two-stage 2024 calls under the topics “Destination 3 – Circular Economy and Bioeconomy Sectors” and “Destination 4 – Clean Environment and Zero Pollution” of the Horizon Europe Program, Cluster 6: Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment, have been announced.
In these highly competitive calls, which were open for applications between October 17, 2023, and February 22, 2024, 509 organizations/establishments competed with 37 projects, and 20 projects were funded. Within this scope, six projects involving 14 organizations from Türkiye were supported, with a total grant amounting to €3,606,925. Details of the supported projects are as follows:
EcoPlast – Empowering Circular Operations in the Automotive Plastics Value Chain
This project, supported under the call topic “HORIZON-CL6-2024-CircBio-02-2-two-stage: Increasing the circularity in plastics value chains”, involves 18 partners. The project aims to develop digital solutions to enhance circularity within the plastics value chain in the automotive sector.

CIRCULAR-C – Novel Biobased Formulations for Circular Construction Materials
This project, supported under the call topic “HORIZON-CL6-2024-CircBio-02-5-two-stage: Circular design of bio-based processes and products”, involves 10 partners. The project aims to drive transformation in the bio-based chemical sector for construction applications by developing next-generation circular and sustainable bio-based adhesives, coatings, and functional fibers.

SAUNA – Sustainable Pulping Innovation Achieving Zero Pollution Through Efficient Wood Residue Feedstock Utilization
This project, supported under the call topic “HORIZON-CL6-2024-ZEROPOLLUTION-02-2-two-stage: Innovative technologies for zero pollution, zero-waste biorefineries”, involves 11 partners. The project aims to develop a new pulping concept that improves environmental performance compared to the kraft process, enhances product yields through targeted fractionation methods of wood feedstock, and reduces biogenic CO2 emissions by 80%.
