Within the MarLEN Project, APRE - Agency for the Promotion of European Research and Waterborne Technology Platform are organizing a series of six joint Workshops aligned with the ZEWT Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) and its six implementation pathways for different ship types, notably inland waterway transport, short sea shipping, ferries, cruise, intercontinental and offshore.
Each MML Workshop will be divided into three main sessions:
- The introductory part will present the MarLEN Project, the ZEWT objectives and the objectives of the workshop.
- The second session will aim at presenting best practices within the sector of the workshop, laying the groundwork for the co-creation part.
- The co-creation session will gather stakeholders to work together on the identification of challenges and potential solutions, opportunities, strategies and actionable recommendations, investigating policy, financial, technological, social dimensions and other aspects of the transition to zero-emission waterborne transport.
The 1° Mobilisation and Mutual Learning Workshop, held on March 12, focused on Inland Waterway Transport, while the upcoming workshop that will be held on June 11, between 11:00-13:00 CEST will focus on Short Sea Shipping.
The event will provide the opportunity to:
- Learn from existing best practices related to the transition to zero-emission short sea shipping;
- Discuss on challenges and opportunies to accelerate the decarbonization of the waterborne sector with different stakeholders;
- Build collaborations and join consortia;
- Participate in the co-creation of actionable recommendation for the sector.
