FRONTIERS is a science journalism initiative funded by the European Research Council. It offers journalists from around the world the opportunity to spend 3 to 5 months at leading research institutions in Europe to enhance their skills in reporting on complex scientific topics.

The initiative aims to bridge the gap between complex scientific research and public understanding, promote ethical reporting, and strengthen collaboration between scientists and journalists. It provides on-site experiences in research environments, opportunities to enhance critical thinking and advanced journalism skills, and the chance to work closely with scientists. Running from 2023 to 2027, this project will support up to 40 science journalists, allowing them to immerse themselves in their chosen institutions, engage with researchers and academics, and work on in-depth stories while gaining valuable learning experiences.
