The results of the 2025 calls under the Cancer Mission of Cluster 1: Health, within the “Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness” pillar of the Horizon Europe Programme, have been announced. Under seven highly competitive call topics, which were open for applications between 6 May 2025 and 16 September 2025, a total of 1,982 organisations competed with 126 proposals, and 16 projects were selected for funding. Within this context, four projects involving three organisations from our country have been selected for funding, with a total contribution amounting to EUR 617,515.00.

Details of the funded projects are provided below.

  • TRANSCAN-4  -Sustained collaboration of funders to support Cancer translational research 

Under the call topic “HORIZON-MISS-2025-02-CANCER-01: Sustained collaboration of national and regional cancer funders to support the Cancer Mission through translational research”, the funded project involves 29 partners and aims to provide effective contributions to groundbreaking translational cancer research and establish a sustainable funding model.

The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) participates in the project as a partner.

  • ECHoS 2 Establishing Cancer Mission Hubs: beyond Networks and Synergies

Under the call topic “HORIZON-MISS-2025-02-CANCER-06: Support to the network of National Cancer Mission Hubs (NCMHs)”, the funded project involves 62 partners and aims to support the implementation of Cancer Mission activities through the establishment and development of National Cancer Mission Hubs operating at national, regional, and local levels.

The Turkish Institutes of Health (TÜSEB) participates in the project as a partner.

  • DynamiCity  -Empowering walking, cycling and micro-mobility for cancer prevention and cleaner, healthier and better-connected cities

Under the call topic “HORIZON-MISS-2025-06-CIT-CANCER-01: Increasing walking and cycling: to reap health benefits, emission reductions and integrate active mobility and micro-mobility devices, with smart technologies and infrastructure”, the funded project involves 36 partners and aims to develop human-centred, multi-level interventions targeting five key dimensions: individual, community, digital, infrastructure and natural environment, and policy.

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality participates in the project as a partner.

  • myLIFEPATH  -MobilitY Leveraging Interventions For Empowering Physical Activity Towards Healthier lifestyles 

Under the call topic “HORIZON-MISS-2025-06-CIT-CANCER-01: Increasing walking and cycling: to reap health benefits, emission reductions and integrate active mobility and micro-mobility devices, with smart technologies and infrastructure”, the funded project involves 31 partners and aims to support cities in adopting active mobility as a core element of urban transport systems that promote health and enhance resilience to climate change.

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality participates in the project as a partner.
