Code Supply
 13 October 2026

The CodeSupply programme, implemented by the NLnet Foundation, will provide financial support for open-source projects aimed at strengthening software supply chain security. The first call opened on 3 September 2026, with a submission deadline of 3 November 2026 at 12:00 CET (noon).

CodeSupply aims to collect, curate and publish software package metadata, including information on software origin, licensing, security vulnerabilities and quality metrics. The programme addresses data challenges in software supply chain management, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance and open-source licence management.

A total of €400,000 has been allocated within the programme budget to fund complementary open-source initiatives aligned with its objectives. Support will be available for both new ideas and innovative technologies, as well as the development and wider adoption of existing technologies.

Independent researchers, software developers and organisations are invited to submit project proposals requesting grants of €5,000 to €50,000. Projects are expected to contribute to free and open-source technology, deliver practical results and improve the reliability and security of the software supply chain.
