
COMSATS has announced the Skill Enhancement Leading to Employment in Contemporary Technologies (SELECT) Program. Using the Iqrasity Learning Management System (LMS), this training program targets final year undergraduate students or graduates in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and related fields. The program offers comprehensive bootcamps that lead to internationally recognized IT certification courses, aiming to create job opportunities in high-demand fields worldwide.
The SELECT Program provides various benefits to participants, including high employability, foreign exchange earnings, and import substitution. Designed especially for unemployed, educated youth, the program aims to equip them with job skills relevant to current technologies. The flexibility of remote work also offers significant opportunities for women.
The SELECT Program aims to create job opportunities for students from COMSATS Member States, contributing to national economies and reducing IT sector imports, thereby saving foreign exchange.
In addition to technical skills, the program also imparts employability skills necessary for success in professional environments. Experienced industry trainers will guide participants in critical thinking, project planning, multi-level project building, and effective communication.
The four main training courses offered in the first phase are:
- Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps Engineering (July 24 - October 23)
- Information & Cyber Security (August 6 - November 2)
- Multiplatform App Development in Flutter (September 2 - December 1)
- 2D/3D/VR Game Development for Mobile Devices (September 24 - December 21)
Eligibility: Final year undergraduate students or graduates in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and related fields. Selection will be based on academic qualifications and an online screening test conducted by the Iqrasity Testing Service (ITS).
The three-month program includes classes held three times a week for four hours each. The training fee is set at USD 250.
Additional technology courses will be added in future phases.
