The European Solar Thermal Electricity Association (ESTELA) is organising the online Joint Industry and R&I National Event in France on 12 July 2022.
The purpose of this event is to:
- Briefly present the main findings and recommendations of our project from both the French R&I and the industry perspective; and
- Have an open discussion - especially between French R&I and industry actors - about the potential developments around concentrated solar – having in mind the current energy policy situation in Europe that has dramatically changed after the COVID period and was amplified by the invasion of Ukraine and could not be yet anticipated/covered during the project.
Instead of a sequence of presentations, 3 moderated discussions rounds will be held looking at the present and future of CSP/CST from a different angle:
- The industrial perspective (French look at CSP, role of main actors (EDF EN, ENGIE), related export opportunities on world markets, but also the potential of new applications of concentrated solar technologies;
- The R&I perspective, with its focus on heat applications, the level of European and worldwide collaboration, the funding conditions and potential challenges; and
- The policy perspective, including the evaluation of the follow up on the RTE scenarios.
