The European Excellence Initiative (EEI) call aims to strengthen excellence capacity within higher education institutions and their surrounding ecosystems.
Eligible proposals must include at least three higher education institutions from EU Member States or Associated Countries. The coordinator must be from a Widening country, and at least 51% of the total budget must be spent in Widening countries. The projects are expected to last five years, with an indicative EU contribution of EUR 2 to 5 million per project.
The 2025 European Excellence Initiative (EEI) call (HORIZON-WIDERA-2025-01-ACCESS-01) is now open for applications.
