Hubs4Circularity
  13 February 2024

The workshop Exploring the Sectoral H4Cs Potential in EU Regions takes place on the 10th of April in Graz (Austria) and is organised by A.SPIRE in the context of the ISEC 3rd International Sustainable Energy Conference 2024 . Among the key themes addressed will be framing Hubs4Circularity, the pathways to industrial-urban symbiosis and circular economy, the process industry perspective, emerging H4Cs from Processes4Planet projects, etc. Furthermore, the workshop will explore cases that will bring knowledge to identify the potential of H4Cs in different industrial areas and regions in Europe.

Processes4Planet Partnership aims to transform the European process industries to achieve circularity and overall climate neutrality at the EU level by 2050 while enhancing their global competitiveness. The Processes4Planet Partnership is a European co-programmed public-private Partnership established between A.SPIRE – as the private entity – and the European Commission in the context of the Cluster 4 of Horizon Europe Programme. A.SPIRE brings together cement, ceramics, chemicals, engineering, minerals and ores, non-ferrous metals, pulp and paper, refining, steel and water sectors, several being world-leading sectors operating from Europe.

A.SPIRE Vision 2050 aims at process industries, regions and cities deploying circular economy at scale. The European Process Industries will join forces with regions and cities to establish Hub4Circularity for energy and resources in Europe Hubs for circularity (H4Cs) are state-of-the-art demonstrator plants of near commercial size acting mostly at regional level. They consist of self-sustaining economic industrial ecosystems for full-scale Industrial-Urban Symbiosis (I-US) and Circular Economy, closing energy, resource and data loops.
