The CLIMAAX Project, funded under the Climate Adaptation Mission, aims to enhance climate resilience by supporting preparedness and planning efforts in line with the EU Adaptation Strategy and Mission objectives. Through two calls, the project set out to select at least 60 regions and/or communities to carry out regional and local multi-hazard Climate Risk Assessments.
In the first call, 32 European regions received a total of over €5.5 million in funding. Now, the results of the second call have been published, with 37 regions from 19 countries securing approximately €6.6 million in funding.
Between June 1 and October 15, 2024, a total of 263 project proposals were submitted and evaluated by the CLIMAAX Selection Committee. Depending on their scope, the selected projects were awarded funding ranging from €115,000 to €300,000.
Among the successful applicants, three are from our country:
- Marmara Municipalities Union
- Mersin Metropolitan Municipality
- Hopa Municipality
