The results of the 2026 second-stage calls under the Horizon Europe Cluster 5: Climate, Energy and Mobility programme (HORIZON-CL5-2026-02) have been announced.

The results of the 2026 second-stage calls under the Horizon Europe Cluster 5: Climate, Energy and Mobility programme (HORIZON-CL5-2026-02) have been announced.

Between 16 September 2025 and 17 February 2026, a total of 10,700 organisations submitted 814 project proposals under highly competitive call topics. As a result of the evaluation process, 50 projects involving 749 organisations have been selected for funding.

Within this scope, 7 projects involving 11 Turkish organisations, including 1 coordinator, have been selected for funding, receiving a total of approximately EUR 3.14 million.

The list of funded projects is provided below:

VALOR – Value-chain optimisation for renewable fuels

Under the call topic “HORIZON-CL5-2026-02-D3-02: Competitiveness, energy security and integration aspects of advanced biofuels and renewable fuels of non-biological origin value chains,” the project involves 14 partners.

The project coordinator is Gazi University, and SOCAR Turkey R&D and Innovation Inc. participates as a project partner.

 

EU4ENER – European energy communities empowered for grid-integrated, cross-sectoral and co-owned energy future

Under the call topic “HORIZON-CL5-2026-02-D3-20: Innovative tools and services to manage and empower energy communities,” the project involves 31 partners.

Participating Turkish organisations include ENDOKS Energy Distribution Systems Industry Import and Export Ltd. Co., Uludağ Electricity Distribution Company (UEDAŞ), and Gökçeada Municipality.

 

GRID-PRO – Smart and Programmable Substation Ecosystems for Resilient Distribution Grids

Under the call topic “HORIZON-CL5-2026-02-D3-18: Next generation distribution substation for increasing the system resilience,” the project involves 24 partners.

Osmangazi Electricity Distribution Company (OEDAŞ)participates as a project partner.

 

TwinD – Model-Driven Digital Twins for Reliable and Autonomous Wind Operation and Maintenance

Under the call topic “HORIZON-CL5-2026-02-D3-07: Improved reliability and optimised operations and maintenance for wind energy systems,” the project involves 9 partners.

CARAVEL – Circular Advanced Renewable Biofuels from Wet Biogenic Residues via Hydrothermal Liquefaction

Under the call topic “HORIZON-CL5-2026-02-D3-01: Large-scale production of liquid advanced biofuels and renewable fuels of non-biological origin,” the project involves 9 partners.

Türkiye Petrol Rafinerileri A.Ş. (TÜPRAŞ) participates as a project partner.

 

H2SECURE – Hydrogen Security and Compliance Coordination Platform Enabled by Decentralised Ledger

Under the call topic “HORIZON-CL5-2026-02-D3-14: Development of innovative solutions strengthening the security of renewable energy value chains,” the project involves 7 partners.

PMO Management and Consultancy Inc. participates as a project partner.

 

CLIMABUILD – Climate-responsive, low-carbon pathways for a resilient European building stock

Under the call topic “HORIZON-CL5-2026-02-D4-03: Innovative pathways for low carbon and climate resilient building stock and built environment (Built4People Partnership),” the project involves 31 partners.

Turkish participants include the Turkish Construction Materials Producers Association (İMSAD) and Fibrobeton Yapı Elemanları Construction Trade Ltd. Co.
