A training was held on 4 July 2023 in Istanbul organized by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) under the “Turkey in Horizon 2020 Phase II” Technical Assistance Project which is co-financed by the EU and the Republic of Türkiye and implemented by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Industry and Technology within the scope of Competitive Sectors Programme.
The event was held with the participation of more than 70 people who are interested in to learn and take a more active role in European Innovation Ecosystems. National Contact Point for the European Innovation Council (EIC) and European Innovation Ecosystems (EIE), TÜBITAK Mr. Tarık Şahin made a welcomespeech. In his speech, he elaborated on the trajectory that Türkiye is on the path to EIE and EIC. Thematic sessions of the event began with the presentation of the Project’s Team Leader Odysseas Spyroglou. Mr. Odysseas Spyroglou informed participants about the Turkey in Horizon 2020 (Phase II) Project activities and the general overview regarding the EIE calls. Afterward, thematic expert of the event Mr. Apostolos Dimitriadis took the floor. Mr. Dimitriadis gave information to the represtatives from different fields of Turkish Research Area about the key elements for success in European Innovation Ecosystem Calls aiming to reflect all the learning objectives to the participants through various themed presentations regarding the related calls and the elements worth-stressing. The event came to an end with the presentation of the other thematic expert and the Training Coordinator of the Project Mr. Nikolaos Floratos titled: “ Next steps for Turkish actors interested in exploiting the open EIE calls”. At the same time, besides thematic sessions, particiapnts were able to do networking during other sessions.
