The Maritime Low Emission Network (MarLEN) and the BlueTech Cluster Alliance (BTCA) are pleased to announce a joint networking and brokerage event dedicated to accelerating the decarbonisation of the shipping sector. The online event will take place on Wednesday, 29 April 2026, from 4:00 to 5:30 pm CEST via Microsoft Teams, and will bring together key actors from across the maritime innovation ecosystem.
Co‑organised by MarLEN — a Horizon Europe project supporting international research and innovation collaboration for maritime decarbonisation — and BTCA, a global alliance of ocean technology clusters, the event will connect shipping companies, ports, technology providers, research organisations, clusters and investors. Participants will have the opportunity to explore collaboration pathways, discover funding instruments and exchange on concrete solutions for low‑ and zero‑emission shipping.
The programme will feature an opening session presenting major funding and cooperation opportunities, including the MarLEN transnational call, Horizon Europe Cluster 5 calls and relevant EUREKA instruments. This will be followed by a dynamic pitching session combining ‘reverse pitches’ from end‑users outlining their challenges and needs, and “innovation pitches” from SMEs and start‑ups showcasing emerging technologies, services and business models for green shipping.
To foster targeted matchmaking, the event will conclude with moderated thematic networking rooms focused on four key areas: AI and digital solutions for energy optimisation and management, innovative design and materials for zero‑emission vessels, ports as decarbonisation platforms, and onboard renewable energy solutions. These interactive spaces are designed to help participants identify synergies, shape project ideas and build consortia for upcoming calls.
