New European Bauhaus (NEB) Community
The New European Bauhaus (NEB) brings together the values of sustainability, inclusiveness and beauty, supporting the transformation of living spaces into more sustainable, inclusive and high-quality environments. The NEB Community, led by the European Commission, constitutes a multi-actor ecosystem that strengthens cooperation and knowledge sharing among public authorities, universities, research organisations, businesses and civil society organisations.
The core component of the NEB Community is formed by NEB Partners. The partnership structure includes civil society organisations, non-profit organisations, education and research institutions, companies, public authorities, umbrella organisations and networks. Applications from individuals are not accepted.
NEB Partners are expected to support the fundamental values of the European Union as well as the sustainability, inclusiveness and beauty principles of the NEB. Partners can contribute to the dissemination of NEB opportunities and policy developments, participate in Community consultations, develop joint activities with other members and take part in NEB Lab projects. In addition, NEB Local Chapters can be established to strengthen cooperation at the local level.
NEB Partnership does not constitute a direct financial support or grant mechanism. Nevertheless, the connections, knowledge exchange and cooperation established within the Community provide an important basis for project development and access to relevant funding opportunities.
Applications for NEB Partnership Are Permanently Open
Applications to join the NEB Community as a Partner are permanently open. Applicants are expected not only to introduce their organisation but also to explain their relationship with NEB values and principles and the concrete contributions they can make to the Community. Applications are assessed by the European Commission, and organisations meeting the requirements are granted NEB Partner status.
As part of the application process, information on the organisation’s field of activity, geographical scope and NEB-related work should be provided, together with a clear explanation of the motivation for joining the NEB Community and the contributions envisaged. At the application stage, it is not required that all activities of an organisation fully align with NEB; however, applicants are expected to clearly demonstrate how NEB values and principles will be integrated into their activities.

NEB Community Platform Facilitates Cooperation
The NEB Community Platform serves as a collaborative platform enabling Community members to communicate, exchange knowledge and experience, and develop joint activities.
In addition to NEB Partners, the Platform brings together NEB National Contact Points, winners and finalists of the NEB Prizes, relevant European Commission teams and services. Organisations can explore potential partners according to their field of activity and country, follow Community events and NEB Local Chapter initiatives, and share projects and activities through the Platform. Access to the Platform is restricted to approved Community members.
NEB Lab Supports Concrete Transformation
NEB Lab, one of the key instruments of the NEB Community, serves as a space for co-creation and implementation where different actors come together to develop common solutions. NEB Lab aims to bring together knowledge, experience and resources from different sectors and translate NEB values into concrete projects.
NEB Lab activities focus, on the one hand, on developing tools, methodologies and policy recommendations that can support the green transition and, on the other hand, on triggering tangible and measurable transformation on the ground.
NEB Local Chapters Strengthen Local Cooperation
NEB Local Chapters are defined as place-based, self-organised structures through which NEB Community members come together within a specific geographical area to translate NEB values and principles into practice at the local level. Such structures can be established at local, regional, national or international level.
NEB Local Chapters aim to strengthen cooperation and networking among local actors, increase the exchange of knowledge and experience, and translate NEB values into concrete projects and activities adapted to local contexts.
The establishment of an NEB Local Chapter requires at least two NEB Community members to come together. The proposed structure should be submitted to the NEB Unit, including information on its name, geographical scope, participating organisations and coordinators, and its establishment should be validated by the European Commission.
