The Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), in collaboration with the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), is organizing a two-week "Future Farming Training Program" from October 19 to 30, 2026. The program will be conducted in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation, with the in-person component taking place in Islamabad, Pakistan.
While agriculture remains a critical pillar of economic development, livelihoods, and food security across OIC Member States, the sector faces growing challenges, including climate change impacts, water scarcity, declining productivity, and limited adoption of modern technologies. This capacity-building program aims to enhance participants' practical skills and knowledge in climate-smart and technology-driven agricultural practices, fostering resilience and sustainable agricultural development across the OIC region.
The program will accommodate 20 in-person participants (10 from OIC Member States and 10 from Pakistan) and up to 1,000 online participants. Full sponsorship covering round-trip airfare, visa fees, accommodation, and meals will be provided to selected in-person participants.
The deadline for application submission is August 20, 2026. Interested candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Education: Minimum of 16 years of education (Bachelor's degree/BS) in agricultural sciences or closely related fields
- Experience: At least 2 years of relevant professional experience
- Age Limit: Between 20 and 40 years old
- Target Audience: Open to agriculturists, farmers, agribusiness professionals, students, and young entrepreneurs from both public and private sectors (female candidates, women agri-entrepreneurs, and progressive farmers are strongly encouraged to apply)
