The FoodSafety4Africa (FS4Africa) project, funded by the European Union, has launched its Second Open Call to support innovation ecosystems and strengthen entrepreneurship in the field of food safety. The call aims to provide financial support to innovation hubs that can foster the development and scaling-up of innovative solutions within food systems across Africa and Europe.

Under the call, at least five projects will be selected to provide mentoring, capacity-building, and business support services to stakeholders involved in the FS4Africa use cases, as well as to beneficiaries supported through the project's first open call. Selected projects may receive up to €40,000 in funding, with a total call budget of €200,000.

Applications must be submitted by a single legal entity, as consortium applications are not eligible. Supported innovation hubs will be expected to deliver at least six training and mentoring activities covering topics such as business model development, market access strategies, social innovation, scaling-up potential, investment readiness, and impact assessment.

The selected projects are expected to start in February 2027 and run for approximately eight months. The implementation process will be structured around three phases: design, implementation, and validation. Applications must be submitted online by 31 August 2026 at 17:00 CET.
