The Horizon Europe Clean Industrial Deal International Brokerage Event successfully brought together more than 600 participants from over 40 countries on 4 June 2026, creating a dynamic platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and consortium building around the upcoming Clean Industrial Deal (CID 2026) and Circular Bio-based Europe (CBE 2026) calls.
Organised by TÜBİTAK with the support of the Technical Assistance for Türkiye in Horizon Europe Project and more than 15 international co-organisers, the event welcomed researchers, industry representatives, SMEs, clusters, investors, research and technology organisations, and public institutions from across the Horizon Europe community.
The event opened with welcome remarks by Mr. Çağrı Yıldırım, National Coordinator of Horizon Europe at TÜBİTAK, who underlined the importance of international cooperation and partnership building in preparation for forthcoming Horizon Europe opportunities.
Following the opening session, the technical programme began with a presentation by Dr. Richard Heyn, Advisory and Programming Group Vice-Chair for Circularity at A.SPIRE, who introduced the upcoming Clean Industrial Deal Horizontal Calls for 2026–2027 and highlighted their role in supporting Europe’s industrial transformation and decarbonisation objectives. Participants also had the opportunity to engage directly with the speaker during a dedicated Q&A session.
The programme continued with a presentation by Mr. Samuele Ambrosetti, Programming and Innovation Manager at the Bio-based Industries Consortium, who provided an overview of opportunities under the Circular Bio-based Europe 2026 Call and highlighted the contribution of bio-based innovation to the objectives of the Clean Industrial Deal. This session also concluded with an interactive discussion and Q&A segment.

After the morning sessions, the focus shifted to practical collaboration opportunities through the Pitching Session, during which 22 organisations presented their project ideas, expertise, and partnership interests. These presentations enabled participants to identify potential partners and explore opportunities for future Horizon Europe proposals.

The event then moved into one-to-one matchmaking meetings, allowing participants to establish direct contacts, exchange expertise, discuss project concepts, and explore consortium-building opportunities in areas such as industrial decarbonisation, clean technologies, energy efficiency, advanced manufacturing, sustainable materials, bio-based solutions, and industrial heat decarbonisation.
The event generated strong international interest and collaboration, with more than 330 bilateral matchmaking meetings taking place on the event day alone. The strong participation, active discussions, and extensive matchmaking activity once again demonstrated the value of brokerage events in supporting the development of competitive Horizon Europe consortia and strengthening international cooperation across the research and innovation community.
Importantly, the collaboration opportunities generated by the event will continue beyond 4 June 2026. The B2Match platform will remain open, enabling participants to continue sending meeting requests, accepting invitations, and developing project ideas and partnerships in the lead-up to future Horizon Europe calls. In addition, event presentations, where permission has been granted, together with the event recording, will be made available through the platform.
