
With the participation of funding organizations from 31 countries across Europe and beyond, a new Joint Transnational Call (JTC) has been pre-announced under the Water4All European Partnership. The official launch of the call is expected in September 2025.
🔬 Call Theme: Water and Health
This call will support research and innovation projects aimed at improving water security in the long term. It is framed under Theme IV (“Water and Health”) — specifically sub-themes IV.I and IV.III — of the Water4All Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda. The call focuses on the following four topics:
- Waterborne contaminants and health risks: Occurrence, behavior, interactions, and vulnerability
- Innovative tools and technologies for water quality and exposure monitoring
- Water treatment and exposure mitigation
- Governance, socio-economic innovation, and policy integration for water and health
⚠️ Important Note:
The information provided is part of a pre-announcement and is subject to the approval of the call text by the European Commission. Final eligibility and evaluation criteria will be published with the official call launch in September 2025.
📌 Expected Contributions of the Projects:
Project outcomes are expected to contribute to policies and strategies such as the Green Deal, Water Framework Directive, Just Transition, the UN Sustainable Development Goals Water Action Agenda, and the European Water Resilience Strategy. Proposals should address the links between water and human health, in line with the One Health approach.
