Under the PRIMARY Project (New business opportunities for farmers and cooperatives in rural areas through local upcycling solutions using underutilised agricultural feedstocks), a call aimed at creating new business opportunities in rural areas has been launched with a total budget of €900,000.

Within the scope of the call, consortia consisting of 2–3 partners are invited to apply under the topics outlined below.

  • Validate and refine PRIMARY’s proven business models for agricultural waste valorisation
  • Demonstrate the replicability and scalability of PRIMARY’s innovative processes in new European regions
  • Generate practical evidence of technical feasibility, economic viability, and sustainability under real rural conditions
  • Develop profitable value chains from underutilised agricultural feedstocks

The call is launched on 9 March 2026, will remain open for applications until 8 June 2026. A total of 6–9 projects are expected to be funded, with each project planned to last up to 18 months.
