6-7 Kasım İstanbul
  12 November 2025

Organized under the “Technical Assistance for Türkiye in Horizon Europe” Project, the Cluster 5 – Energy Calls Project Writing Camp was successfully held in Istanbul on 6–7 November 2025. The event gathered more than 20 Turkish researchers and innovative stakeholders aiming to apply as coordinators for 2026 energy and battery-related calls, providing an interactive and productive environment.

The two-day event opened with remarks by Dr. Hanife Tuzcuoğlu, National Contact Point for Climate, Energy and Mobility at TÜBİTAK. Her colleagues Mr. Serhat Melik and Ms. Irmak Çalık, who also serve as National Contact Points under the same cluster, took active roles in the first sessions, sharing insights on TÜBİTAK’s role in Horizon Europe and national support mechanisms. Addressing participants’ thematic questions, the experts provided valuable contributions to the event, which aims to support Turkish stakeholders planning to apply as coordinators in Horizon Europe calls.

The thematic sessions of the programme were delivered by Dr. Rainer Janssen and Ms. Duygu Çelik from WIP Renewable Energies (Germany). Over two days, the experts guided participants on topics such as proposal excellence, impact pathways, and implementation design, supporting them in transforming their project ideas into competitive Horizon Europe proposals.Participants engaged in practical exercises on call text analysis, consortium balance, impact indicators, and risk management strategies, gaining in-depth knowledge of the proposal preparation process.

On the second day, the focus shifted to Implementation sections, where participants worked on work packages, budgeting, governance models, and deliverables. Later in the day, during one-to-one mentoring sessions, researchers had the opportunity to receive personalized feedback on their draft projects.

This comprehensive camp not only provided knowledge but also equipped participants with hands-on skills, strategic perspectives, and international networking opportunities. The event was considered an important step toward increasing the number of coordinators from Türkiye leading Horizon Europe calls.

The Technical Assistance for Türkiye in Horizon Europe Project is jointly financed by the European Union and the Republic of Türkiye, implemented under the Competitive Sectors Programme of the Ministry of Industry and Technology. The Ministry of Industry and Technology acts as the Contracting Authority, while TÜBİTAK is the Final Beneficiary.
