“Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD): Accelerating the Industrial Transition”, organised by the European Commission, will take place on 19 March 2026 in Brussels, with the possibility to attend online.
The event will bring together industry representatives, policymakers, researchers and innovators to discuss the role of the SSbD approach in Europe’s industrial transition. The programme will present the revised SSbD Framework and showcase concrete examples from Horizon Europe projects.
The conference will also kick off the work on the EU Innovation and Substitution Hubs, announced under the Chemical Industry Action Plan. These hubs aim to support companies, particularly SMEs, in developing, testing and scaling up SSbD-driven innovations.
The event seeks to strengthen cooperation among SSbD projects across the EU, enhance knowledge sharing, and foster the development of collaborative initiatives.
