
The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership (SBEP) has launched an online stakeholder consultation to support the update of its Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA).
As the Partnership's key strategic document guiding its joint research and innovation (R&I) activities, the updated SRIA will help identify the research and innovation priorities, knowledge needs and enabling conditions required to advance a sustainable, resilient and competitive blue economy in Europe. Contributions are welcomed from a broad range of stakeholders, including:
- Research and innovation organisations,
- Public authorities,
- Funding organisations,
- Industry and SMEs,
- Investors,
- Regional and sea-basin initiatives,
- NGOs and other relevant stakeholders.
Through the online questionnaire, which takes approximately 30–60 minutes to complete, participants are invited to share their views on:
- Emerging research and innovation priorities and knowledge gaps,
- Strengthening the links between research, innovation, policy and implementation,
- Barriers to scaling up sustainable blue economy solutions,
- Enhancing the contribution of research and innovation to climate action, pollution reduction, biodiversity protection, resilience, competitiveness and security,
- And shaping a long-term strategic perspective for the future of the ocean and the blue economy.
The deadline for submitting contributions is 11 September 2026 (Friday), 12:00 noon (CEST).
