“Twinning for Excellence in TUBITAK on the Fatigue Simulation of Additive Manufactured Parts- FatSAM” (GA no: 101159809) project is funded by the European Union under the HORIZON-WIDERA-2023- Access-02-01 Twinning Bottom-up call.
The FatSAM project aims to provide scientific expertise to TÜBİTAK MAM personnel in the field of fatigue and additive manufacturing simulation for aerospace applications, and to determine the fatigue life of nickel-based super alloys through a combination of experimental and computational methods. The primary objective of the project is to develop a precise and reliable fatigue life prediction model that will encourage greater use of additive manufacturing parts in industry, particularly in the aerospace sector. The objective will be achieved through collaboration with the International Center for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE-CERCA) with respect to fatigue modelling and with Luleå University of Technology (LTU) on the AM process simulation.
As part of the FATSAM Project, a summer school will be organised to provide comprehensive training in the simulation of additive manufacturing processes. The programme offers an in-depth exploration of simulation techniques related to additive manufacturing, including process simulation, material modelling, fatigue analysis and high-temperature mechanical testing. The programme is intended for students and researchers interested in the theoretical and applied aspects of advanced manufacturing simulations and material behaviour.
The summer school programme will be a hybrid format, hosted by Luleå University of Technology. For more info and registration:
