The Horizon Europe National Info Day, held on 22 December 2025 in Istanbul, brought together more than 130 stakeholders. Coordinated by TÜBİTAK and implemented within the scope of the “Technical Assistance for Türkiye in Horizon Europe” Project, the event offered valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange and interaction among stakeholders active in the fields of research, development and innovation and was successfully completed in line with the planned programme.
During the opening session of the full-day programme, the opportunities offered by Horizon Europe and their significance for institutions in Türkiye were addressed. In this context, Tarık Şahin, serving as the National Contact Point for EIE, EIT and EIC, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the overall structure of Horizon Europe, its main components, clusters and missions. The presentation highlighted the support provided by the TÜBİTAK National Contact Points (NCPs) to applicants throughout the entire process, from project preparation to project management.
In the subsequent session, İhsan Karataylı, Key Expert of the Project, shared insights on the approach and priorities of the Türkiye in Horizon Europe Technical Assistance Project, as well as the support tools available to stakeholders. Information on the agenda of the day and the expected outcomes for participants was also presented during this session.
In the later sessions of the programme, the session entitled “From Idea to Proposal: Key Steps & Best Practices”, delivered by Dr. Nikolaos Floratos, the other expert of the event, focused on the effective interpretation of Horizon Europe calls and work programmes, the formation of strong consortia, and the clear definition of roles among partners. This was followed by the session “Technical Project Management in Horizon Europe”, which addressed practical aspects such as work package and deliverable design, project monitoring and reporting processes, risk management and contract amendments.
Throughout the day, critical topics including consortium building, role allocation, monitoring and reporting, risk management and amendment mechanisms were discussed in detail. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, during which a general roadmap outlining next steps for participants was shared. With its structure fostering knowledge exchange, experience sharing and collaboration among stakeholders, the Horizon Europe National Info Day represented a concrete reflection of joint efforts aimed at strengthening Türkiye’s participation in the Horizon Europe Programme.
