The Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) is a public–private partnership that brings together the European Union and industry organizations active in the life sciences sector, with the aim of transforming health research and innovation activities to deliver tangible benefits for patients and society by fostering an interdisciplinary, sustainable, and patient-centred research ecosystem.
Within the scope of the IHI Programme, the evaluation results of the IHI-8 Call, which accepted applications between 25 June 2024 and 23 April 2025, and the IHI-9 Call, which accepted applications between 16 January 2025 and 29 April 2025, have been announced. Under these highly competitive calls, three projects involving four organizations from our country have been selected for funding, with a total contribution amounting to EUR 702,316.25.

- Cities@Heart-City-based Strategies for improving Cardiovascular Health in Europe
Under the call topic “HORIZON-JU-IHI-2024-08-two-stage”, the funded project involves 37 partners and aims to develop and implement sustainable and cost-effective approaches for prevention, early detection, and disease management to reduce cardiovascular disease risk factors such as obesity, hypertension, dyslipidaemia, and diabetes. The project focuses on strengthening citizen engagement, and incorporates digital solutions and multi-sectoral collaborations.
Ege University and the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality participate as project partners.
- COMPASS-Cardio-Oncology Multidisciplinary Patient ASsistance Solution
Under the call topic “HORIZON-JU-IHI-2025-09-single-stage”, the funded project involves 67 partners and aims to improve cardiovascular health by enabling the early detection, prevention, and personalized management of cardiovascular diseases in cancer patients and cancer survivors.

EXIT-CVD
Under the call topic “HORIZON-JU-IHI-2025-09-single-stage”, the funded project involves 42 partners and aims to prevent and manage cardiovascular diseases at an early stage through personalized and equitable approaches, thereby reducing health inequalities and transforming cardiovascular care in a sustainable and effective manner.
