As the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK), we are happy to share Türkiye’s Position Paper on the upcoming Tenth EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (FP10). The document outlines Türkiye’s recommendations and priorities, aiming to strengthen Türkiye’s role within the EU Framework Programmes and to align the Turkish Research Area with the European Research Area.
The Position Paper underscores the necessity for a stable and enhanced budget to support ambitious projects, advocates for a balanced approach between policy-driven and curiosity-driven research, and calls for streamlined processes throughout the Programme. Türkiye also emphasizes the importance of increased inclusion for Associated and Candidate Countries, particularly concerning the continuation of Widening Participation initiatives and expanded efforts for greater inclusion within the European Innovation Council (EIC).

The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) EU Framework Programmes National Coordination Office has developed an online survey to assess the current status and expectations of stakeholders within the Turkish Research Area regarding the Framework Programmes. The survey aimed to identify the problems experienced in the process of participation in the EU Framework Programmes and to collect valuable feedback from the participants for the next Framework Programme (FP10). The survey has been published online on 6th of August 2024 here and the responses were collected until 17th of September, 2024. The results of this consultation process have been incorporated to inform this Position Paper, with a detailed analysis of the survey available here.
