“Towards an ERC Advanced Grant: From Groundbreaking Idea to Successful Proposal”
The mERCury project, the network of National Contact Points (NCPs) for the European Research Council (ERC), is organising an online event for researchers planning to apply to the ERC Advanced Grant call.
mERCury is the first NCP project dedicated specifically to the ERC programme, with TÜBİTAK playing an active role as a Work Package leader.
The event aims to provide researchers with a comprehensive perspective, from developing a truly groundbreaking research idea to understanding the ERC evaluation process.
2026 ERC Advanced Grant Call (Expected Timeline and Budget)
Opening date: 28 May 2026
Deadline: 27 August 2026
Total budget: €747 million
Estimated number of projects funded: Approximately 300 (across all research domains)
Funding per project: Up to €2.5 million (+ additional €1–2 million top-up funding)
The event will include:
- Insights into the ERC’s frontier research approach
- A dedicated session on the ERC evaluation process
- Testimonials from Advanced Grant holders in SH, PE and LS domains
- Contributions from ERC Executive Agency officials and ERC panel members
