EIT Urban Mobility ScaleTHENGlobal: Deadline is Extended!

ScaleTHENGlobal is an EU-funded programme implemented through EIT Urban Mobility partners aiming to support startups in scaling-up their business in Europe, driving growth and going international.
Among the activities of the programme, ScaleTHENGlobal will support three pilots with 50k€ by matching city challenges and the best pilot projects presented by 15 startups from ScaleTHENGlobal. This first phase of the selection process aims to gather proposals in the form of city challenges.
An evaluation panel composed by 4 members (2 EIT UM, 1 ScaleTHENGlobal consortium, 1 City Club member) will score the proposals according to a standardised set of criteria (e.g. resources, proposed challenge, availability among others.) . Proposals with a total score above 10 out of 15 points will be matched with the startups to select the best 3 pilot projects.
Please propose from the perspective of your city a challenge to be solved by the startups participating in the EIT Urban Mobility ScaleTHENGlobal programme through the implementation of a pilot project. Please bear in mind that you can submit as many challenge as desired by fulfilling multiple times this form. The form will close on the 23th July 2021, end of day.

Eurogia 2030 Call 18

Eurogia 2030 Call 18 has been launched on the 13th of July and will be closed on the 30th of September 2021.
The scope for the Call 18 will include:

EIT Urban Mobility Publishes a Call For Proposals for RIS Education

EIT Urban Mobility’s Regional Innovation Scheme (RIS) is publishing a call for proposals (CfP) for RIS education activities in RIS countries starting in 2021.
The purpose of the call is to pilot RIS education activities in 2021 that can be repeated and expanded in the coming years. The call focus on impact in RIS countries but is open to also organisations for non-EIT RIS countries. Activities can address any of the Academy segments, Master School, Doctoral Training Network and/or Competence Hub. We look for activities focused on raising awareness regarding EIT Urban Mobility education and training opportunities, capacity building regarding teaching, as well as courses related to urban mobility and innovation and entrepreneurship.
This call for proposals is open to all types of stakeholders.

EIT Urban Mobility -New European Bauhaus Call for Proposals for Citizen Engagement

The New European Bauhaus initiative (NEB) is an environmental, social, and cultural initiative that complements the European Green Deal and combines aesthetic experience, sustainability, and inclusivity.
The aim of this Cross-KIC NEB Call for proposals is to work on activities where citizens and end-users are not only asked to identify relevant challenges of their city, but also empowered to co-create together potential solutions in an ideation process.
The Cross-KIC group proposes to develop activities in cities and regional areas to facilitate the exchange of knowledge between people across Europe and to create interdisciplinary projects addressing sustainability, quality of experience and inclusiveness. With this approach, some topics have been identified as Cross-KIC New European Bauhaus Challenges for this call.

Green transition through architectural, cultural, and historic sites:
- Sustainable alternatives for hardscapes as urban spaces, naturalisation of degraded public areas, green areas, biodiversity, green and blue infrastructures, and urban furniture as assets promoting active mobility, improving citizen well-being, and mitigating heat island effects. Towards circularity and urban resilience:
- Enhancement of public realm, accessibility, and interconnection through active mobility modalities, to mitigate air pollution and improve physical and mental health. (EIT Urban Mobility)
Ensuring affordability and accessibility to all:
- Universal mobility as a key enabler for social inclusion. Everyone should be able to move freely within cities regardless gender, race, beliefs, or disability (barrier free access). (EIT Urban Mobility)
The Call aims to select one proposal for each of the above identified challenge areas, thus awarding seven projects in total. Each successful proposal will be awarded up to EUR 15,000. The KICs reserve the right to fund more than one proposal under a specific challenge when the number and/or quality of proposals received across the range of challenges do not meet the necessary criteria. Challenges are aimed to be holistic and cross-sectorial, however each challenge will be led by the KIC with the most relevant expertise.

- 40% Expected impact of the project

Information Seminar Records Released for the New EIT Urban Transport RIS HUB Call in Turkey

The EIT Regional Innovation Scheme (EIT Regional Innovation Scheme - RIS) is the outreach program of the EIT Community. It was launched in 2014 to share successful practices and experiences of EIT Community activities and to increase participation in EIT's activities in Europe.
The Call for Proposals for the activities of the Regional Innovation Scheme (RIS) EIT Urban Mobility Center for Croatia, Latvia, Romania, Slovakia and Turkey is open until 2 August 2021. During the webinar, each of the two sessions offered (July 6 or 20) will have the opportunity to learn more about the new RIS HUB Call and get your questions answered.
In the session held on July 6, RIS Manager Bence Huba gave a presentation about the call timeline, all the requirements and especially the different work packages. Also, technical support on how to submit RIS proposals was provided during the webinar. The final part of the event was a Q&A with the audience able to ask questions directly to the RIS team. The webinar was published on the link on youtube.
A similar presentation will take place on 20 July on the published call for proposals (CfP) for RIS Hub activities in Croatia, Latvia, Romania, Slovakia and Turkey within the framework of the EIT Urban Mobility Regional Innovation Plan (RIS). Those interested who could not attend the first event can register via the link and attend the second event and get answers to their questions.

EIT Urban Mobility RIS Centers should ensure the active participation and cooperation of local Knowledge Triangle actors (industry, universities and research centres); it should also liaise with relevant national, regional and local authorities to ensure that they benefit from their expertise. RIS Centers will also assist in identifying potential funding and project opportunities for Knowledge Triangle Integration (KTI) and will also advise KTIs on how to begin project development and implementation.
