ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR EXPERTS AND CONSULTANTS
A. ERC Project Writing-Training Support
For a consultancy firm to be eligible,
- The firm should have delivered at least 10 ERC project writing-training services and have evaluated at least 5 ERC projects that are funded following the ERC evaluation.
B. ERC Project Pre-evaluation Support
For a consultancy firm to be eligible,
- It should have delivered at least 20 ERC pre-evaluation services with at least 5 of the supported projects successfully funded.
For an expert to be eligible, he/she should meet at least one of the criteria:
- To be an active or former ERC panelist (should not be a panelist for the relevant call and should not pose a conflict of interest)
- To be an active or former Principal Investigator in an ERC Grant (Starting, Consolidator, Advanced Grant or Synergy Grant)
- To be an active part in ERC Mentoring Initiative* (the list or mentors to be provided after the first step)
*Mentoring Initiative: It is an initiative initiated by the ERC to support national ERC Support Programmes by mobilizing former ERC panel members and ERC principal investigators so that they can assist researchers while preparing to apply. You can find detailed information about the initiative on the ERC website and in the initiative's guide.
The applicant decides for an expert/consultancy firm and informs TUBITAK. In case the expert/consultancy firm is ineligible, the applicant is asked to change his/her offer. The applicant is allowed to have one expert/consultancy firm per application. It is the responsibility of the applicant to sign additional agreements with the expert/consultancy firm about conflict of interest and IPR.
TÜBİTAK would like to have the proof of the eligibility of the consultancy firm or expert. For pre-evaluation criteria, a signed letter from the PI or the firm that includes the acronyms of the projects is needed (if necessary consent from the PI of the project might be needed). For the panelist criteria a letter from European Commission is needed indicating that the expert is a panelist. Additional documents might be needed by TUBITAK in a case-by-case manner.
The expert/consultancy firm should be able to give the PI an invoice. This is necessary for the reimbursement. If you have any problems concerning this, please contact the programme coordinator.
C. ERC Interview Training Support
- The consultancy firm should have delivered at least 10 ERC interview training services, with at least 5 of the supported projects successfully funded.
- The expert should have delivered at least 5 ERC interview training services, all of which must have resulted in funded projects.
