ERC 2027 Starting Grant and Consolidator Grant Calls
As of 22 July 2026, the ERC 2027 Starting Grantand Consolidator Grantcalls have started to be launched. Under these calls, approximately 669 groundbreaking projects across all fields of science are expected to be funded with a total budget of €1.2 billion, supporting research that aims to push the boundaries of existing scientific knowledge.
Both calls introduce important changes, most notably the new eligibility window introduced for the first time this year, which extends the eligibility period after the PhD defence to 0–10 years for the Starting Grant and 5–15 years for the Consolidator Grant.

TÜBİTAK will organise a series of events to support researchers planning to apply to these calls with the support of universities and research centres in Türkiye in their preparation processes. Researchers who plan to apply for ERC calls expected to be launched next year under the new Framework Programme are also invited to participate in these events.
The first event in this series will be held online on 18 August 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00 Türkiye Time (TRT). The session will also include a Q&A section where participants will have the opportunity to ask their questions.

Researchers planning to apply to these calls are advised to first review the guidance and relevant documents provided on the TÜBİTAK website. They may then contact Aslı VURAL, ERC National Contact Point, at ncperc@tubitak.gov.tr to share their application plans, ask questions about the ERC programme, discuss their project ideas, jointly review evaluation reports from previous applications, and learn more about the ERC-specific training opportunities and support provided under the ERC Principal Investigator Development Programme (EBAG).
