General Information

Chips Joint Undertaking (Chips JU), which is a European partnership program under Horizon Europe and a further development and expansion of Key Digital Technologies JU. The main task of the program is to implement the European Chips Act which will strengthen Europe's competitiveness in semiconductor technologies. 

Chips JU is a public-private partnership that the members are:

  • the public authorities consisting of:
    • the Union, represented by the Commission;
    • the participating states including Türkiye as well.
  • the private members consist of three industrial associations: AENEAS, INSIDE and EPoSS.

For Chips JU, the funding comes from three parties: participating countries, the European Commission and the actors participating in the projects. This partnership is coordinated by TÜBİTAK in Türkiye and TÜBİTAK co-finances the participation of Turkish actors in the collaborative projects.

Budget

Chips JU will manage a budget of nearly €11 billion, the combined contributions of the EU and of participating states.
