Horizon Europe Cluster 5 & 6 - Digital Matchmaking

ERRIN together with The Research Council of Norway, and the Norwegian EU networks FINN-EU, Horizon Sustainable Oslo Region and Horizon Mid-Norway welcomes you to Horizon Europe Matchmaking - Cluster 5 & 6! 

The event will take place over four days: 31 May - 1 June and 3 - 4 June 2021


This digital matchmaking event targets Cluster 5 & 6 in the Horizon Europe work programme by giving special attention to some of the destinations. Our goal is to help the participants build regional innovation ecosystems aiming to solve European challenges within the thematic scope of: 

Over the course of four days participants will be given an introduction to and review of selected destinations under clusters 5 and 6 by speakers from the EU Commission and National Contact Points (NCPs), as well as the opportunity to pitch and connect with other participants. Each day will include:

  1. Plenary sessions hosted by speakers from the Commission and NCPs. Each session will provide an introduction to and review of the specific destination(s) 
  2. Pitching*. After the sessions introductions the participants will be given an opportunity to present/pitch their project idea or skillset. 
  3. 1:1 Meetings. Each day we encourage participants to browse other profiles and schedule 1:1 meetings. Participants will be able to schedule meetings upon registration.

Actors with an ambition to participate in cooperation projects related to the destinations covered by Horizon Europe Cluster 5: Climate, Energy and Mobility and/or Cluster 6: Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment, including: 

  • Municipalities and county municipalities, municipal and intermunicipal companies and enterprise
  • Government agencies and NGOs 
  • Research actors and businesses with a specific desire to welcome relevant partners from the public and voluntary sectors to their consortia

The International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), Turkey is a member of,  provides financial support to researchers operating in the fields of basic life sciences, health services, industrial and agricultural biotechnology and bioengineering in its member countries through various fellowships and grant programmes.

In order to raise awareness on ICGEB grants and fellowships the “Awareness Workshop ICGEB – TURKEY” Webinar will be held on 27 May 2021, 10:00-13:00 (TR Time). TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal will open the event and welcome the ICGEB representatives and participants.

All scientists, academicians, post-doctoral researchers, graduate and doctoral students operating in the fields of life sciences, health services, industrial and agricultural biotechnology and bioengineering in Turkey can join the webinar where TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan MANDAL will be present with his opening remarks.

"Leading the Digital Decade" Conference, 1-2 June 2021

We are delighted to announce the Leading the Digital Decade conference, hosted by the European Commission and the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The conference will he held virtually on 1 and 2 June 2021.

The starting point of the first day’s debate is the Communication “2030 Digital Compass: the European way for the Digital Decade”. Its vision is simple: everyone in Europe can and should benefit from digital.

The second day will be dedicated to the launch of the Digital Europe Programme, the first financial instrument of the EU for European projects on digital.

Two of the highlights of this event will be the presentation of the Lisbon Declaration, a contribution to the preparation of a proposal from the European Commission for a joint inter-institutional Declaration of Digital Principles, and the inauguration of the EllaLink submarine cable, which will be retransmitted from the cable’s site in Sines, south of Lisbon. This cable will offer high-capacity connectivity on a new route linking major subsea hubs in Europe and Latin America.

INCAREHEART Project Open Market Consultation Information Day Event Will Be Held on June 15, 2021!

The INCAREHEART (Pre-commercial Procurement of innovative ICT-enabled integrated care solutions to advance multidisciplinary health and care for patients with chronic heart failure) project, coordinated by the Swedish Jämtland Härjedalen Regional Management with partners from Turkey, Greece, Portugal, the Netherlands, Spain and Germany included in the consortium, is a European Union project that has been carried out since February 2021, funded under the Horizon 2020 Programme 'SC1-BHC-20A-2020 - Pre-commercial procurement (PCP) for integrated care solutions' call heading. The project is a PCP (Pre-Commercial Procurement) project and has a tender budget of 4.6 million Euros.

It aims to ensure that chronic heart failure patients can be monitored remotely by healthcare professionals using an online platform and that these patients are more involved in their own disease management processes and thus more empowered (patient empowerment), ultimately resulting in better quality and more continuous management of their chronic diseases. To facilitate this, software programmes with artificial intelligence will be developed, that will provide better management approaches for chronic diseases and will be fully integrated with the health information systems of the pilot regions. Research and development of innovative solutions will be transferred to contractors in accordance with the European Union's PCP procurement model.

On 15 June 2021, between 10:00 am - 12:00 pm (Turkish Time Zone), an Open Market Consultation information day event will be held. The event will be in Turkish and will be organized by the Turkish Ministry of Health.

2Zero Partnership online May 19!

The “Towards zero emission road transport” (2ZERO) partnership will launch soon, as part of the new framework programme of the EU: Horizon Europe. It will be the continuation and extension of the European Green Vehicles Initiative. Building upon the success of previous initiatives (Green Cars and Green Vehicles), the 2Zero partnership will address the challenge of decarbonisation of road transport in a systemic way.

The preparations to present the future co-programmed partnership Towards zero emission road transport (2Zero) are underway.

Mark your agenda: On May 19, the European Commission representatives and stakeholders from EGVIA will introduce the future co-programmed partnership. The programme will be shortly announced.
This introduction event will be followed by 4 “Get Lunch with 2Zero” online meetings in June. Each of the online meetings will present a pillar of the partnership – pillars structuring the partnership’s activities and interacting to identify R&I challenges and priorities:

  • Pilar 3 “Innovative concepts and services for the zero tailpipe” – 1st June from 12 00 to 13 00
  • Pilar 2 “The integration of BEV into the energy system and related charging infrastructure” – 8th June from 12 00 to 13 00
  • Pilar 1 “Vehicle technologies and vehicle propulsion solutions for BEV and FCEV” – 15th June from 12 00 to 13 00

“Shape the future of Digital Manufacturing Platforms in Horizon and Digital Europe” Interactive Workshop, 19 May 2021

All the projects in the Connected Factories ecosystem are warmly invited to actively participate in the interactive workshop “Shape the future of Digital Manufacturing Platforms in Horizon and Digital Europe”. Representatives are invited to collect business cases from their projects, to describe them in the EFFRA Innovation Portal, to position them as industry-driven bridges towards Made in Europe and Data-AI-Robotics Partnerships and to identify challenges and recommendations to be addressed for the full adoption of Digital Technologies in Manufacturing. The event will collect experiences and lessons learned in the preparation, conduction and exploitation of DMP industrial cases, and interpret them in the light of future EC partnerships and work programmes.

Horizon Europe Strategic Plan 2021-24 & 2021-2022 Mobility Topics (Cluster 5) General & Introductory Training (Webinar)

We have the honour to invite you to our General & Introductory Training (Webinar) organised by TÜBİTAK under the “Turkey in Horizon 2020 Phase II” Technical Assistance Project which is co-financed by the EU and the Republic of Turkey and implemented by the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Industry and Technology within the scope of Competitive Sectors Programme.

The event is an introductory event targeting potential participants in Horizon Europe framework programme with little or no experience, as well as more experienced researchers that would like to learn about the new Horizon Europe Structure and the Strategic Plan for 2021-24. The event focuses on the 2021-2022 Mobility topics (Clean and competitive solutions for all transport modes; Safe, Resilient Transport and Smart Mobility services for passengers and goods) under the new Cluster 5 section of Pillar II area: Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness.

The event will present the Horizon Europe Structure & Strategic Plan for 2021-2024 covering EU priorities and Work Programme destinations and outlining the Key Strategic Orientations, expected impacts & corresponding Work Programme destinations. It will also cover Horizon Europe Call & Proposal Documents including the new Proposal Template.

The sessions are structured in such a way to help participants grasp the fundamental concepts of Horizon Europe Programme Strategic Plan related to Mobility. Particularly Destinations 5 and 6 of Cluster 5:

  • Destination 5 – Clean and competitive solutions for all transport modes
  • Destination 6 – Safe, Resilient Transport and Smart Mobility services for passengers and goods

The content is enriched with presentations, training notes, curated literature from the EU, and useful templates.

The European Interest Group (EIG) CONCERT Japan is delighted to announce the opening of the joint call for proposals on the theme of “Sustainable Hydrogen Technology as Affordable and Clean Energy)” from interested researchers are now accepted, until July 9th this year.

The joint call titled “Sustainable Hydrogen Technology as Affordable and Clean Energy)” has been launched in the context of EIG CONCERT Japan, which is an independent platform for the development of scientific and technological cooperation between Europe and Japan. Applications will be submitted until July 9th, 2020 (10.00, Central European Time)  this call.

2nd Brokerage Event of Eurogia Green Transition
