Welcome to the first edition of the “Technical Assistance for Türkiye in Horizon Europe” Project newsletter!
Horizon Europe, the world’s largest civilian research and innovation programme, continues to shape Europe’s scientific and technological future. The 2026–2027 Work Programme introduces key priorities such as the Clean Industrial Deal to accelerate industrial decarbonisation, increased investment in AI in Science through initiatives like RAISE (Resource for AI Science in Europe), and continued support for EU Missions, green and digital transitions, and Europe’s technological resilience. Additional emphasis is placed on talent development and research infrastructures, including strengthened MSCA (The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions) opportunities. With a budget exceeding €14 billion, the programme is set to accelerate innovation, strengthen industrial competitiveness, and support Europe’s green and digital transformation.
Strategic Ally for Turkish Stakeholders
The “Technical Assistance for Türkiye in Horizon Europe” Project supports the Programme by strengthening national capacities and promoting effective participation of Turkish stakeholders through targeted trainings, proposal development support, and networking activities. During the first half of 2026, the Project focused on raising awareness of upcoming opportunities and mobilising stakeholders through a series of trainings, project writing camps, and dissemination efforts to position Turkish actors for the 2026–2027 calls.
Empowering the IMS Club for Wider Horizon Europe Outreach
The Information Multipliers System (IMS) was established as a dedicated community, known as the IMS Club, bringing together 60 members to expand local outreach, guidance, and support within Türkiye’s Horizon Europe ecosystem. Through a focused capacity-building roadmap, targeted meetings, webinars, and workshops equipped IMS Club members with the technical and strategic tools to interpret Horizon Europe opportunities, support proposal development, analyse calls, and foster stronger partnerships across the national research and innovation community.
