METARNAFLAMMATION basic research project was the first ERC project to be accepted in the field of life sciences from Turkey. The project aims to develop new drug targets for the treatment of arteriosclerosis and heart attack based on molecular biology. The project is important for the identification of molecular nods where metabolism and the immune system intersect.

Industrial Innovation (including innovation in services as well as products and processes)

METARNAFLAMMATION project will be useful for elucidating the molecular pathology of many complex diseases such as diabetes, cancer, and arterosclerosis. This ERC project will lead to the development of drugs for cardiovascular diseases, which are the primary causes of mortality in Turkey and will help reducing the economic loss due to these complex diseases.
