Scientific Outputs
Scientific and technological added value of the project is the characteristics of solanaceus plants with different genetic characteristics and gathering the data in a common gene bank and the protection of genes with strategic designation in Europe and in different geographies of the world. In addition, plant species with diverse genetic characteristics can be accessed much more easily through the digital access network and will be accessible in everyday agricultural applications.
Tackling ‘grand’ or societal challenges
Within the scope of G2P-SOL project, a digital access network of potato, tomato, pepper and aubergine crops will be established to determine the species with different genetic characteristics and to see the characteristics of these species.
Industrial Innovation (including innovation in services as well as products and processes)
Though the G2P-SOL project, end-users such as farmers and farmers' associations will be able to know the genetic properties of potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant seeds to be cultivated and cultivate seeds with the desired genetic characteristics. Thus, these plants, which have 66% of the horticultural sector in Europe, will be cultivated with sustainable and adaptable agriculture by cultivating those plants which are more resistant to changing environmental conditions and plant pests.
The improved exercise of professional skill
During the project, more than 100 Turkish researchers are planned to be educated in the scientific conferences. More than 500 researchers and farmers will be educated within EU.
