EXA4MIND
Goal of the Project
The EXA4MIND project aims to create an Extreme Data Platform that will bring together large-scale data storage systems and powerful processor infrastructures, which will offer new automated data management and effective data processing and data analysis capabilities. The platform will provide integration with edge data sources and support complex and advanced data analysis flows for information extraction. The EXA4MIND platform, which will support and enable big data-driven advanced solutions in different application areas, scientifically and industrially, especially in autonomous driving, smart agriculture and smart health applications, will include standardized modules and automated processes for advanced heterogeneous data management and analysis.
A team of experts from 9 European organisations, will develop a platform for Extreme Data that enables advanced data analytics on supercomputers and automated data management, laying the technological foundations for future European data analytics and computation taking into account the whole Digital Continuum.
EXA4MIND is a 36-month EU-funded initiative that will bring together an interdisciplinary team of field-leading experts from universities, research centers, SMEs and the industrial sector to make Big Data from heterogeneous storage systems and database management systems available in a uniform way for processing on European pre-exascale supercomputers, cloud and AI-processing systems.
Scientific / Technological / Commercial / Societal Outputs
The main output of the project is the EXA4MIND platform. The scientific methods to be developed for the advanced heterogeneous data management, access and analysis features of this innovative platform will be presented as academic articles. The METU team is especially involved in the development of innovative and artificial intelligence-based data querying, indexing and analysis solutions.
The main achievement targeted in the project will be solutions that will enable efficient use of High-Performance Computing (HPC) resources for Extreme Data management, access and analysis. In order to achieve this gain, case studies will be conducted from four different fields (molecular simulation, autonomous driving, safe patient data management and agricultural soil and product analysis, automatic irrigation management) that need extreme data management and analysis.
Benefits to the Emerging Workforce
Within the scope of the project, know-how development will be provided with postgraduate thesis studies within the scope of innovative solutions to be developed for advanced heterogeneous extreme data management, access and analysis.
