Aim of the Project

  •     Developing N2 and N3 type zero emission (ZEV) logistics vehicles with increased energy efficiency compared to electric vehicles on the market, testing their use cases
  •     Virtual integration of ZEV vehicles for fleet management purposes and developing digital twins
  •     Developing vehicle architecture design tools for TCO reduction
  •     Develop infrastructure that enables efficient fast charging concepts and cost-effective, flexible and adaptive business plans
  •     Completing a test that represents the actual conditions of use of the developed tool

Scientific/Social/Economic/Innovative Contribution 

  •     10% increase in the distance that can be traveled with a unit of energy compared to the latest technology heavy commercial class electric vehicles in the market
  •     Using an optimal thermal management system in the vehicle and achieving a 15% increase in efficiency
  •     Development of necessary algorithms for fleet-level management of electric delivery trucks
  •     20% reduction in total cost of ownership compared to internal combustion vehicles thanks to lightweight aluminum chassis and optimized thermal management
  •     Real use test between Eskişehir and Gölcük for 6 months with an electric truck with a range of 200 km per day

Importance in Solving Global Problems
    By designing vehicles with low total cost of ownership, efforts will be made to reduce the CO2 emissions resulting from the use of distribution trucks.
Industrial Innovation (including innovation in services as well as products and processes)
    In the project, work will be done from scratch for a modular aluminum chassis, which is suitable for electric vehicles and has no commercial example. The new chassis will be compatible with electric vehicle components and will ensure that unnecessary weights are not carried. A study will be carried out to reduce the total cost of ownership by both mitigation studies and optimizing the thermal management system. Along with these, a software tool will be studied through which the TCO value can be optimized.

Research-induced Changes in National Policies and Strategies
    With the production of more efficient electric trucks in our country, Turkey can be brought to a position that develops technology in the electric vehicle sector. In addition, the widespread use of electric trucks will reduce the need for non-renewable energy resources in our country.

Its Effect on Foreign Dependency and Current Account Deficit
    The knowledge to be gained through the project will pave the way for the products purchased from abroad to be produced with high efficiency in our country. In addition, the project is carried out taking into account the conditions of use in Europe and the requirements for urban use. This situation will facilitate the sales of vehicles with the design guided by this project in Europe in the future.

Contribution in Developing/Receiving Public Goods and Services
    One of the most suitable areas of use for urban trucks is garbage trucks, which are also used by local governments in our country. A direct benefit can be achieved in this area with the development of electric trucks.

Contribution to the Development of Professional Skills and Professional Abilities
    The challenges in these areas will be learned by working with materials that will provide lightness that have not been studied before, modular designs that will fit in different concepts, and innovative methods such as extrusion and additive manufacturing to produce these designs.

Contribution to the Development of Human Resources
    Within the scope of the project, professional events such as fairs and conferences that will increase the knowledge and expertise of the personnel working on the project are supported.
