Open and responsible research and innovation initiatives and methodologies benefit science, research, academic and other sectors. Unfortunately, these methodologies are not widespread among researchers and organisations. The EU-funded PATTERN project will increase the reach of these initiatives. To train the researchers, it will develop and demonstrate training programmes, providing researchers with transferable skills useful in research work. This will also enhance higher education institutions and research organisations. Finally, the training will better equip research in the European research area with skills and reasoning to overcome societal challenges.
