In Europe, innovative SMEs and start-ups in emerging markets are driving change but require more resources and complex R&I ecosystems for international expansion. EU networks aim to include these entities to promote more inclusive and cost-effective development. The EU-funded MAPIT project seeks to connect innovative SMEs, research entities, and European R&I networks, and establish digital innovation centres at Turkish and Estonian research institutions to host SMEs and provide access to R&I capacities. The project aims to increase participation in Horizon Europe and strengthen university-industry partnerships. The Roadmapping Strand focuses on discovering and planning R&I partnerships, while the Future Studies Strand is dedicated to upskilling R&I managers and administrators.
